1.What were the two reasons Clay was late to school?
Clay was late because he waited outside the post office doors. Another reason that when he sits in Mr. Porter’s room the only place he will want to look at is the empty desk that Hannah used to sit at.

Clay was mailing the tapes to Jenny Kurtz.

Clay saw Skye down the hall.

chapter 15


1.Who does Hannah go to for help? Did he help her?
Hannah went to M. Porter for help. Mr. Porter did not help her; he was not taking Hannah seriously.

2.Describe Hannah’s conversation with Mr. Porter?
Hannah was trying to open up to Mr. Porter but it was not easy for Hannah. It was not helping that Mr. Porter did not take it as serious as he should have.

3.Do you think Mr. Porter could have helped Hannah? How?
I do think Hannah could have helped Hannah. He could have thought a little harder and realized that she was not happy with her life. He then would have thought of suicide, and informed her parents. Her parents would have then kept a very close eye on Hannah, and probably have prevented the suicide.

4.Why do you think Mr. Porter didn’t go after Hannah when she left him in the office?
I think Mr. Porter was too lazy to go after Hannah. I think that was dumb how he did not go after her, a normal teacher, ESPECIALLY counselor would have went after a student who ran out of their office.

Hannah decides to commit suicide by overdosing on pills. Hannah decides on pill because it is less painful.

The last time Clay saw Hannah was at school when they bumped into each other, and they both said I’m Sorry to each other.

Tony is connected to the tapes because he has the second set of tapes, and can distribute them if the people do not pass on the tapes like they are supposed to.

Clay Jenson is described as a nice person; nobody ever has anything bad to say about him.

No I do not thin Clay belongs on the tape, the tapes were supposed to be for those who had a part in Hannah’s suicide.

Hannah was surprised that Clay was going to a party because he never showed up at any parties.

Hannah was grounded because her grades were not doing so well.

Hannah and Clay had a great conversation. Hannah said that it seemed like Clay could know her, like he understood everything she said. The same things exited them, and the same things concerned them. Clay was asking questions, but they did not seem intrusive.

I think Clays mom left Clay alone even though she knew something was wrong because she knew deep inside she knew he was not doing something that was up to no good.

Peer communications at school was like Hannah’s safe haven at school.

3.What method did Mrs. Bradley use to have her student give their opinions about others?
Ms. Bradley had a brown bag for each student on a rack. Students were able to place little notes in each other’s bag saying whatever they wanted to say about each other. Students would usually give each other nice little compliments.

At Rosie’s Clay sees Tony.

5.What did Zach do to Hannah? And why do you think he did that to her?
Zach was taking out Hannah’s notes that were in her brown bag. I think Zach was doing that because he just was an immature little brat.

I think Hannah wanted to change her appearance because she wanted to be noticed. I also think she changed it because that is a sign of suicide. Hannah also did it without noticing that a change in appearance is a sign of suicide.

Hannah left herself a not in the brown bag to see if it would be there the next day.

I do not know why Zach did not apologize to Hannah.

Hannah started crying and screaming to Zach why he had done what he did. Hannah had her melt down because she was sad and what Zach did made her feel horrible. It made her feel horrible because Hannah needed those notes of encouragement.

Some warning signs of a suicidal individual are a sudden change in appearance, giving away personal belongings.

I feel like I’m losing control when little things go wrong in my life. Little thing really bother me.

Marcus Cooley was the mysterious caller Marcus was one of the biggest goof-offs.

Hannah did not want to tell the cheerleader what happened at Rosie’s because what had happened at Rosie’s was not a good experience for Hannah.

Clay’s mom is worried about Clay because it was getting late and he had not called her to check in.

I think that nobody helped Hannah because that is just an awkward situation to be involved in.

Courtney Crimsen was a pretty girl, with pretty hair, pretty smile, and perfect skin. Courtney was also very nice.

Hannah saw Courtney as very sweet, and one of the most popular girls in school.

Yes this girl named Stephanie that USED to be my friend was extremely fake.

Courtney affected Hannah because Courtney was pretending to get very close to Hannah, but Courtney was just grooming her to be another tally mark under the people who thought Courtney Crimsen is a really neat girl.

People were not able to resist Courtney because she what flirt her way to get what she wanted. Yes, I’ll admit I have done that before also.

Clay feels so compelled to follow the map because he feels that tapes are not enough for him.

Clay saw his eight grade crush, Skye Miller.

Outside Tyler’s house Clay sees Marcus Cooley from school.

Hannah thinks Courtney used her because Courtney had asked Hannah to show up at the party with her, but as soon as they got there, Courtney left Hannah.

Courtney told the guy that Hannah has got a few surprises buried in her dresser

Yes I do think Hannah did the right thing by leaving Courtney because it was very obvious that Courtney was using Hannah for a ride.

I think Clay is not going to be involved in a bad way, but in a good way.

Tyler was a boy from Hannah’s school who was apparently spying on Hannah through her window.

Tyler was described as creepy.

Tyler was in the tape because he was a peeping Tom.

Hannah is recording the tape right outside Tyler’s window.

Tyler would take pictures of Hannah, because he was a peeping Tom.

If I situation similar to Hannah’s happened to me, I would act calm, and go to my mother’s room and then call the cops.

I would tell my mother.

I would avoid a stalker by not kind of staying out of the spot light most of the time. I would also not tell anybody where I live, except for close friends.

Hannah’s dad went outside and made sure Hannah’s blind were at an angle where nobody could see inside her room.

Tyler’s shades were all the way down, yet you can still see in. The shades were made of bamboo, or fake bamboo, and between each stick are varying amounts of space.

Hannah wanted someone to be afraid for her; she also wanted someone to validate her fears.

The girls were talking about Hannah having something secret in her drawer to get Tyler exited, and surprise Tyler in that act.

I think that the stalker gets sexually exited from just looking at Hannah.

I think that this will not end well; this is just too much of an awkward situation.

If Tyler’s actions were reported to the police, Tyler would probably be sent to juvenile hall.

Hannah then twisted her blinds shit every night, each night she simply turned out the lights and went to bed. Her bedroom was supposed to be safer for her, but Tyler took that away.

Clay finds a book with words scribbled in red ink near the top that says “Everyone needs an olly-olly-oxen-free, with the initials J.D.A.S.H.B. He also found an upside down photograph.

Ms. Antilly was the guidance counselor for student with last names beginning A through G.

Ms. Antilly wanted Hannah to go to school early to introduce her to another new student.

Jessica and Hannah got along pretty well in the beginning.

Monet’s was a place where all of them can hide out, and talk, it was like their secret little place.

Hannah Baker was on the tapes.

2.What were the tapes for and why?
The tapes were for those who impacted Hannah’s decision on suicide.

3.Who is someone that has affected you growing up, positive or negative? and why?
My mom has affected me positively because I think I am a pretty normal person, I also think that my father has impacted me negatively.

4.What happened to Hannah?
Hannah committed suicide by taking pills.

5.What excuse does Clay use for everything?
Clay uses that he has to do school work, or a school project.

6.What is Hannah’s tone in her tape?
Hannah’s tone in her voice is kind of revengeful.

Hannah died by taking a lot of pills, to commit suicide

The rules of the tape were you had to hear them and pass them on to whoever’s name comes after yours in the tape.

I would listen to them, and pass them on. I would not be scared, unless I did something horrible, which I probably would not have done.

Clay is surprised, and a little nervous.

Yes I would, just to know what they are about.

He thinks that the tapes should not have been sent to him, and that he did nothing wrong to Hannah.

Clay kept the map in his backpack.

Justin Foley was Hannah’s first kiss. Justin made false rumors about what happened at the park between them two, and everybody thought of Hannah in a different way after that.

Hannah says that betrayal is one of the worst feelings.

Hannah is talking about how she has a neighbor, who liked Justin, and her neighbor moved away and Justin and Hannah started liking each other. Hannah and Justin then shared their first kiss with each other. After the kiss Justin made false sexual rumors about Hannah. After the rumors everybody thought of Hannah differently.

They are passing around the tapes because if they don’t, the tapes wills somehow be shown to everybody.

They called Justin because Hannah wanted to see how Justin looked.

Clay decided not to throw the tapes away because it was Hannah’s voice and he felt he could not throw it away.
