1. I think the boys felt welcomed and happy. He hasn't been welcomed much on his journey.

1. What was unsettling about his journey was that he didn't know where his life was going.

3. In the beginning of the chapter Ishmael is sad and pessimistic. There is nothing for him to look forward to.

5. Saidu basically just means that every time he accepts death he becomes sadder, and he is very depressed and does not feel alive anymore.

6. In Mende stories the spider is the character that tricks other animals to get what he wants but his tricks always backfire on him.
