ch.11&adobe




1. How did the boys grieve Saidu’s death?
He had a little burial in a coffin at the mans house in a table in the living room.

2. Who is Gasemu?
He was a notorious single man in his town.

3. What does Gasemu say about his family?
He says his family has been talking about him for days, and praying for his safety. Gasemu also said they have been looking for him

4. How did he feel when he thought of seeing his family again?
He got happy, and was impatient.

5. What happened as he was going down the hill?
They heard gunshots, dogs barking, and people screaming and crying.

6. Describe the village after the gunshots?
The village was was on fire, with bullet shells covering the entire ground. There was also dead bodies everywhere.

7. Why did Gaseu start screaming?
He began screaming because he saw more than twenty people all lined up face down with blood pouring from their bullet wounds.

8. What happened to the house Ishmael’s family stayed at?
It was burned down.

9. Why did he have a guilty feeling?
He had a guilty feeling because he hit Gaseu for what happend to his family.

10. Describe the 10 rebels they saw, how were they acting?
They were acting proud of killing people and accomplished, as if they did something good.

11. What were the rebels boasting about?
They were boasting about not letting anybody getting away.

12. Could you relate to any of the tragic events in this chapter or do you know some A-holes that are ruthless like the rebels?
Yes, well i don'y know them personally but murderers who kill and think of it as a good thing.

13. What happened to Gasemu in the end? Where did Gasemu tell the boys to go?
He had gotten shot by the rebels and dies. He told the boys to go to a place ouside villages where people processed coffee or other crops.

14. How do you think it mad Ishmael feel seeing a familiar face and being recognized?
He felt a little as ease, and hopefull that he would get to see his family soon.


15. What feeling do you think they were feeling knowing they were close to seeing their families?
Exitement, and impatient.

16. Have you ever been so close to getting something you want and have it slip away from you?
Yes, my friends or even family have flaked out on me when i am very exited, or they just cancel last minute.

17. Do you think any of the boys families made it out of the village?
I think so, well i hope so.

The couple hugged vehemently in the rain.

The business executed a plan that would make them a large profit.

I was very annoyed after he boasted about himself.




4. Hesitantly: hesitating; undecided, doubtful, or disinclined.
I hesitantly spent all my 150 dollars on just one dress.




5. Motioned: the action or process of moving or of changing place or position; movement.
As she motioned vary fast, she became tired after a while.




6.Emerged: to rise or come forth from or as if from water or other liquid.
She emerged into the large body of water.




7. Grieve:to feel grief or great sorrow
I grieved after my good friends death.
