.The main character was not eating so he was getting extremely skinny. He was able to feel and see his ribs. His joints were also weak.

.Six boys were running away.
.The main character and his friends took the little boys corn away and ate it.
.The little boys mom felt bad for the boys and gave them some corn. I would have probably reacted the same, I would of understood.
.The rebels showed up out of no where and pointed their guns. They were scaring them and were about to choose some of the boys to make them rebels. As they were making the chosen few rebels the rebels heard gunshots and the captured civilians ran away. Some got captured and they were beat or killed. The main character and his friends did not get captured though.
.The rebels were not over 21, they were dressed casually with clothes they took from the people they captured. They also had a a red cloth tied on their head. They were not friendly.
.The rebels shot the gun so close to the old man making fun of his reaction.
.In their culture they have to be very respectful to their elders. My expectations in how to treat elders is just to treat them as I would treat anybody else.
.In recruitment they have to kill someone so that they can become used to the blood.
.The new recruiters were forced to kill someone. There has been times where I have been pressure to do something.
.The main character escapes death because the rebels get distracted with some gunshots they heard. That gave all the captives time to escape.
